Even though there are numerous spiritual paths, many people hold strong convictions that there is only one path to God … and obviously that path is the one they are following. It has been my experience that the higher you climb in consciousness and awareness … regardless of which of the spiritual paths your soul has chosen to help you get there … those paths all ultimately lead to oneness, inner peace, Divine love, and enlightenment. And I have met many following many spiritual paths that have gone far towards those ends.
I care not what path one follows … I care what’s in their heart. If they are kind, do their best to follow the Golden Rule, and are actively focused on growing and evolving as an individual, then they tend to be “my people.” And I have met many heart-centered people walking many spiritual paths. I look for those who have worked diligently to rid themselves of hatred, judgment, and fear … which taints and distorts everything they perceive, say, and do. Clarity and purity of mind, body, and spirit in the western world, most practice the Christian faith. Beloved Yeshua ben Joseph (Jesus / Sananda in his Ascended Master expression) definitely taught a path of love.
Christianity, as practiced in western society, typically holds only a glimmer of what was taught by Jesus himself … people often forget or never connected the dots that he was a jew his entire life. For anyone curious about what I’m talking about, visit the work of Neil Douglas-Klotz. Just listening, intoning, and dancing the first line of the “real” Lord’s prayer can change your life. Neil went back to the actual Aramaic and developed a much more authentic translation of the original. When I had a complete spiritual awakening back in 1993, I was soon intuitively guided to take a weekend workshop with Neil … whom I knew nothing about, but absolutely KNEW I had to learn from. I saw an ad in a magazine and instantly knew I HAD to go.
It wasn’t a guess. It was an absolute inner knowing. Going there was greatly uncomfortable, because I knew nothing about Neil or his work and my personality was really rebelling as “Desert Wisdom Weekend” sounded pretty strange to me at the time. I’m so glad I went. It was glorious. It was my first real experience of sound healing. We were creating our own sounds by singing in Aramaic and other middle-eastern languages doing dances and other body prayers. It was extraordinary and truly life changing / transformational.
Spirit of Nature
I have spent many moons with shaman, medicine men and women, wise elders from many indigenous cultures from all across the globe who came to teach and lead ceremony at the Spirit of Nature Retreat that I owned in New Mexico. Many of those people have far greater peace than the majority of white people (Christians or not) that most will ever meet. I have met three actual Avatars (Master, Sage, etc.). One, in particular, exuded so much love, it literally caused me to have tears run down my face … without her saying a word. It was merely her presence and the Divine radiance that she exudes … which we, ultimately, can all become ourselves should we decide to take up that mantle for ourselves.
Jesus (according to the English translation anyway) said: “know ye not that ye are gods” and “even greater things than these shall ye do.” Those are words I believe whole-heartedly.
My God, the God I stood fully in the presence of, the God I felt through every fiber of my being, the God I know to the dept of me is not a god of war, of vengeance, of anger and judgement or one that would ever require a blood sacrifice. And that is where various religions and I part company.
My God is an exceedingly loving God, plays no favorites, loves absolutely unconditionally, and is delighted in it’s (beyond gender) creation which we all are. The beautiful thing about life on planet earth is that we get to decide what truth speaks to our soul. One can be deeply Divinely connected regardless of religious path, or in my case, lack of specific religious path. Like make personality
The ultimate path for each person, I believe, is the one their soul pushes them to walk. For some, that means being part of a particular religion. For others, that means learning this and learning that, taking bits and pieces from all those we are Divinely guided to spend time with and then continue to climb in consciousness and awareness, to continue to heal the “sins” of fear, limiting beliefs, judgments, expectations, guilt, shame, blame, victimhood, etc. that keep us from becoming Avatars ourselves. To forgive ourselves and others for the things we have done, said, and thought this and other lifetimes. To receive insight directly through Divine revelation, and to continue to follow the still small voice within rather than what others tell us we “should” believe.
Yeshua / Sananda is a dearly beloved being of Light whom I greatly admire and do my best to emulate. His teachings of the Golden Rule (also part of every major world religion) is one I work to incorporate into my every decision, my every action. He has appeared to me on numerous occasions and I feel his distinct energy whenever I ask for him to be present.
I had a distinct memory (a flash of a vision) of walking along the shore alone with Yeshua one day and he kept saying the word Hashem. So I wish I could remember the rest of what he was saying. I assumed that it was my name in that lifetime. One day a few years later I felt “inspired” (in spirit / intuited) that I should look it up. It turns out that it is one of many names for God in Judiasm.
What I find fascinating is the large number of Jewish clients that I have. I said something about that to one of my dear friends and clients … who also happens to be Jewish. She said, “you feel Jewish to me.” The same is true of Native Americans though. I have many native friends who just don’t look at me or consider me as “separate” like they do many other Caucasians. I have been many things and I have “called in” those various lineages to my now. The closer I get to Oneness (I know I have far to go), the more I understand how all paths lead to the same place.
I don’t really tune in so much to the religion and teaching as I do to the Being behind it, the energy of The Teacher, be it Yeshua, Buddha, or some other Avatar … because that is what I believe all of us are here working to become.
From that perspective, I feel that all paths have validity. Those who are walking them are on that path on purpose. When their soul is ready for them to evolve, they will do so within that path (as beings like St. Francis and Hildegard von Bingen were able to evolve far beyond their peers and the constrictive teachings of the church at the time, while they were still within the construct of Christianity) or they will move on to the next thing their soul wants them to experience.
